IDEA: Feedback

Support for J2ME CDC development

Created: 08 Jul 08 19:16   Updated: 08 Jul 08 19:18
Component/s: Compiling Project, GUI Designer, IDE Configuration, Project Configuration

Environment: Mac OS X, Windows

Build: 7,757
Severity: Medium

 Description  « Hide
Currently IDEA has zero support for J2ME CDC (previously Personal Java), while both Netbeans and Eclipse have excellent support and they became also officially supported by at least two major handheld terminals producers, Symbol and Psion Texlogik. Netbeans have even special GUI builder for NSICom Creme JVM.

Whole company standardized on IDEA to develop fat client. We would like to use it also to develop mobile solution for Windows Mobile based hand held computers (barcode). It is inconvenient for developers to change development environment, just because IDEA does not support J2ME CDC.
